Special performance

"la danza del desierto" is Spanish for "The Dance of The Desert".
It is the opening movement of a larger work consisting of four parts composed entitled "The Arizona Suite" by Kevin Julien. It was written for "Piano Fusion"an Arizona based group incubated as an “Emerging Artist Group”, supported and incubated ten years ago at SNAP. They now perform regularly at the MIM, founded and led by virtuoso Pianist Diana Cobb. Originally conceived for 4 hands on 1 piano it needed to be rearranged for orchestra due to the challenges of social distancing arising from the Covid-19 Pandemic. The spectacular music video was filmed on location in Arizona with choreography by Bridgette Maria that includes Tango Argentino, Pasodoble, Flamenco and Waltz.

Tam Tilton

Tam Tilton, founder of Acropella and Yoga Rootage, leads Yoga, AcroYoga and Contact Improvisation dance workshops, Yoga Fun for Kids classes, Yoga-inspired wellness retreats worldwide.  She also offers Thai Yoga Massage and Flying Therapeutics to private clients.

During the past twenty years, she has studied Yoga and meditation with numerous teachers and styles.  She traveled to Thailand and completed a 200-hour Yoga teacher certification course with Wise Living Yoga Academy, an affiliate of the Yoga Institute of Mumbai, India.  She taught Thai children ‘Yoga for Kids’ in a bi-lingual class.  She studied Dance and Music Theatre at Arizona State University, Western Oregon University, and the University of Oregon.  She also completed courses and workshops in traditional Thai massage, Chi Nei Tsang,  Partner Yoga, Circus Yoga, AcroYoga, Flying Therapeutics and is a Certified AcroYoga Montreal teacher.

During 2015, she completed a month long, rigorous physical training program in Mexico to become a Partner Acrobatics Certified Instructor followed by a second month long training in Spain during summer 2016 to further expand her teaching skills.

Her teaching style is fun and joyful, gentle, wise and compassionate. She enjoys encouraging others to live out their dreams and highest potentialities.  AcroYoga is a beautiful tool she discovered to enhance relationships, encourage expression, build trust and community connectedness.
